The Junior League of Pine Bluff operates on funds earned by
the following fundraisers:
We have two search
engines that allow you to raise money for the Junior League of Pine
Bluff every time you perform an online search. You can help
out simply by performing all of your online searches at either www.jlpb.prodege.com
or www.goodsearch.com
(select the Junior League of Pine Bluff as your charity), or by
clicking either link below. Both search sites are powered by
Yahoo!, so you'll get the same great results as if you searched
the Yahoo! site, only better, because you'll be raising money to
support our efforts in bettering the community and the future for
our children!

We are now taking
donations through your American Express account.
With the American Express Donation Site, giving has
never been so easy or rewarding Give to your favorite charity by
donating with your American Express Card. Donations can be made in dollars or
Membership Rewards® points. Your dollar donation is tax deductible
and you will receive an e-mail receipt that meets IRS requirements as a record
of your contribution. The site also enables you to set up recurring donations to
your favorite charity. Plus, you can earn one Membership Rewards point for
virtually every dollar you donate on an eligible, enrolled Card.
Visit
www.americanexpress.com/give for more information
* To be eligible to earn bonus points, you must be
enrolled in the Membership Rewards program at the time of the donation and must
charge your purchase on an eligible, enrolled American Express® Card. Terms and
conditions of the Membership Rewards program apply. For more information visit
www.americanexpress.com/rewards. Donation of Membership Rewards points are not
tax deductible.
Please note: American Express will deduct
a transaction fee of 2.25% from your donation to cover processing costs. The
charities will receive your donation amount, minus the 2.25% American Express
processing fee, from our partner JustGive. This transaction fee is similar to or
less than the processing fee the charity would pay if you were to charge your
donation with your American Express Card through any other means (i.e., over the
phone to the charity, through the charity's website, etc.). You will not be
charged any additional fees for using the American Express Donation Site and the
full amount of your donation is 100% tax-deductible.

Recycle
your old or unused
cell phones, pagers, used toner
cartridges for printers,
copiers and
fax machines.
|
This easy fundraiser concerns all of those used toner
cartridges for laser printers, inkjet printers and even
copiers and fax machines that we either throw away or mail off
for recycling, as well as our outdated and unused cell phones.
We are accepting all of these for recycling to earn more money
for the League. You may drop these items off at the League house, or call and we'll make arrangements to come pick them up from your office or home.
Please put the empty toner cartridges in their boxes, just as
you would if you were returning them yourself. (If you don't
have the box, that's okay. We'd still love to have them.)
For your unused cell phones, simply drop them off at
the League house with their battery attached. You can either
include all of the accessories, or not. That's up to you. If
you work in an office, please ask the others around you to
save their toner cartridges and cell phones. You can also ask
your local schools, churches, social groups and family members
to save their toner and phones for us. The more we send in for
recycling, the more money we make. This will be an ongoing
fundraiser so remember it in the year to come! |

Cookbooks
|
|
|
In 1976
The Junior League of Pine Bluff approved our first cookbook,
Southern Accent, as a major fundraiser. It has been
featured in Good Housekeeping, inducted as a charter
member into the Southern Living's "Community Cookbook
Hall of Fame," and has been awarded the McIlhenney Tabasco
Award. The Junior League of Pine Bluff was also honored when a
recipe from Southern Accent was included in the Association of
Junior Leagues International's The Junior League Centennial
Cookbook. Southern Accent is now in its 8th edition and
has sold over 140,000 copies. |
|
|
Because of the success of the first cookbook, the
Junior League membership voted to publish a new cookbook. The
publication of Southern Accent, A Second Helping marks
our 30th year as a member of the Association of Junior Leagues
International, Inc.
The cover of Southern Accent, A Second Helping
features the Main Street Mural. It is an actual representation
of how Main Street Pine Bluff looked in 1888. This was the
first of several murals completed and remains the most
popular, drawing tourists from around the country.
