JLPB will host a benefit/fundraiser to fight against child hunger onMarch 31, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at Harbor Oaks. Bugs & Mugs promises to be an exciting evening of fun with great food, drinks and live music from Dr. Zarr's Amazing Funkmonster band.

JLPB's primary project for the past two years has been to reduce child hunger in Jefferson County through our backpack food program. Through a partnership with the Arkansas Rice Depot, JLPB is providing food-filled backpacks to children in need in four Jefferson County schools. Within two years, the backpack program has grown from an annual delivery of 2,100 backpacks to over 3,500 backpacks this year to children in Jefferson County. In 2012, we're hoping to exceed that number exponentially.
